The other day, I saw the documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop about the famously mysterious London street artist Banksy (very, very highly recommended, if you haven’t seen it yet). So I had street art on the brain when I came across this post about Berlin.
The article is about Berlin's street art. It highlights one project by the Belgian artist roa, who painted a bunch of giant rats climbing up the side of a Berlin apartment building. I like the rats.
I love good street art. I’ve written about it before in the blog. European cities are filled with it. If you're taking a trip to Europe, enjoy the street art. According to the article, every few months Germany hosts the Stroke Art Fair, a street art festival. A Stroke Art Fair took place in Berlin in the fall, will be in Munich this May, and will be in other to-be-determined German cities throughout 2011 and 2012.
If you like street art, or if you want to see more about it, definitely see Exit Through the Gift Shop. It's a great look at the art form. The movie is nominated for best documentary in the upcoming Academy Awards. It’s funny, and full of surprising twists and turns. Much like street art.

Good stuff as per usual, thanks. I do hope this kind of thing gets more exposure.
